Day 10: The New Heaven and New Earth

Scripture:

Revelation 21:1-4 (KJV)

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Reflection:

The new heaven and new earth are the final restoration of all things. This will be a place of perfect peace, where God will dwell with His people, and there will be no more suffering, death, or pain. This vision of the future should inspire us to live with an eternal perspective, remembering that no matter how difficult life is now, God’s promise of restoration is secure. The beauty and joy of the new creation will far outweigh the troubles of this world.

Action Step:

Spend time today reflecting on the hope of the new heaven and new earth. How does this future promise affect the way you live today? Take a moment to thank God for the restoration He has promised and ask Him to help you live with an eternal perspective.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the promise of a new heaven and new earth. Help me to live with an eternal perspective, knowing that You are making all things new. Strengthen my faith as I wait for the glorious day when I will dwell with You forever.
