Day 5: Serving Others in Christ’s Name

Scripture:

Matthew 24:21-22 (KJV)

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Reflection:

The Great Tribulation is a period of intense suffering and persecution, unlike any other time in history. Jesus warned of these days as a time of unimaginable distress. However, God promises that He will shorten the days for the sake of the elect. For believers, this is a reminder to remain faithful and to trust in God’s sovereignty during times of trouble. Though the tribulation is a dark time, God is still in control, and His ultimate plan will come to fruition.

Action Step:

Pray for strength and endurance in your faith, particularly for Christians facing persecution around the world. Ask God to help you remain steadfast in your trust in Him, even during challenging times.

Prayer:

Lord, I know that in the last days there will be great suffering, but I trust that You are in control. Strengthen my faith to endure, and give me the courage to share Your hope with others. Protect Your people around the world, especially those enduring persecution.
